Clarence, who recently returned from France, had been visiting in Indianapolis and lie and his brother Frank, who works in Indianapolis, accompanied by Mrs. Grover Ewing and little son, who live in Indianapolis, came down Saturday evening on Monon No. 9 to spend Easterj with their parents. !In order to make the spread of a little more consequence Mr. and Mrs. Reid invited Aunt Hale j Burton and daughter Ruth, Mr. I and Mrs. Earl Pickens and son Franklin, Miss Allie Hixon, Milt Barnard, Bruce Scarlett, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Lagle and sons Johnson and Charlie, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bass, Miss Mabel Bishop,! Oscar Haverly, Mr. and Mrs.! Howard Chitty and daughter Lil-j lian. |The dinner was more than allGean;netanIdamjL-5.tlil:tn»fI.sr.hoddeL-eL-yei_ of the above could overcome by a whole lot, and that was some.It has been many moons since we tackled so big a .job as we had Sunday at dinner, worked so faithfully and failed so inglor- {, ioiisly. There were good things to eat scattered all over the house but the whole party was outclassed and one by one they lost interest in the fight, until not a soul could eat another I bite. It was cooked in the good, old-fashioned wajr and flavored to make a man do his best even though he knows he must suffer after. /Later in the afternoon ’ Dr. John Andrews and wife and Will Andrews and wife, of Bedford, who had been out to Lawrence-port. dropped in but could not make a dent in the left-overs, although we had to give Dr. Andrews credit for taking a throw at it. He lasted about one round and two seconds..We all had a big day ' of it and enjoyed the social time as well as the dinner, although we j noticed the sociability tha wed j out some after the big eats, nat-n urally would, of course.lo10]m.dddPlt;7:seea
