Company K Ends Flood DutyCompany K, Atlantic national guard unit which has bwn on flood duty at Council Bluffs sinco April 13, returned home yestorday afternoon. Five officers and 68 •nlisted men received the thanks of Ken Gardiner, sc tine *Hy manager of Council Bluffs, and the commendations of Lt. Col. HaroldSpurgin of Council Bluffs, guard garrison commander, as the unit was released from duty yesterday noon.The unit will resume its week-ly drills next Monday evening.Eight members of the company have received promotions. Advanced to corporals were Donald Hansen of Brayton, Bill Hoover and Gerald Wolf of Atlantic, Arnold Phelps of Exira, Herman 8teffens of Massena, and Gene Conner of Cumberland. Kermit Mueller of Griswold and Jack Wilkins of Atlantic were promoted to private first class.8gt. i/c Johnny Robson of Anita, who has been attending the mesa management school at Ft. Sheridan, 111., the last three i months, returned from the school just in time to accompany the Atlantic company to Council Bluffs for flood duty.
