Sturkol / Air ForceU.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Scott T. Sturkol has deployed to southwest Asia to support the missions of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, and the Combined Task Force-Horn of Africa. He will be a part of the 380th air expeditionary wing.Sturkol is the son of David and Barbara Sturkol of Wakefield. He graduated in 1987 from Wakefield High School, and earned a bachelors degree in ‘2002 from Park University, Parkville, Mo.Operation Enduring Freedom is the name thats been given to anti-terrorism military operations, according to a press release from the Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas. For antiterrorism military operations U.S. troops serve in south, southwest and central Asia, the Arabian peninsula, Africa, islands in the Pacific and Europe.Operation Iraqi Freedom is the name that’s been given to military operations aiming to free and secure Iraq, the release said.Sturkol, a public affairs superintendent, is regularly assigned to the Air Mobility Command Public Affairs at Scott Air Force Base, Belleville, 111. He has served in the military for 18wyears.*
