From the beginning of the program with a military concert of stirring music by the LaSalle Military ROTC Band, presentation of general staff and public officials, color guards, close order drill of the local National Guard Co. C, 27th Dlv., presentation of members ofvarious branches of Armed Services and local veterans’ organizations to the principal address of Maj. Gen. Ogden J. Ross, USA,ret., the recognition day was stately and dignified, a memorable event.In addition to Maj. Gen. Ross, those taking part Included Maj. Albert A. Butkas, general chairman, who Introduced James M. Brahan, master of ceremonies; WO Benedict A. Nowlk, co-chairman, who led the pledge to the flag; Chaplain Victor C. O'Brien, who gave the Invocation; Capt. John M. Lang, who was honorary chairman, and who, with Col. Helmut J. Haag and Lt. Col.Karl F. Nealand, presented military awards and decorations.Following the formal ceremony, a social hour and annual military stag reunion were held after which 190 attended the annual military stag banquet.Others on the committee In charge of arrangements Included First Sgt, Charles R.
