ROSCOE HGUCIJIN RETURNS,i ----; Private Koscoe Huuchin, Co. A.. First Machine Gun Battalion, who i has been on overseas duty for the i past eighteen months, returned to | his home at Oakland City last week. :after having been honorably discharged from the service. He was a participant in the battles of Can-; tigny, SoiSsons, St. Mihiel and in th ? ’ numerous and continuous actions in ] the Argonne Forest. After the sign*; ing of the armistice he was with thv I army of occupation in the Luxemburg and in Germany. Ik* has seen much of Europe and in all his e: perienee was not wounded once That lie has seen much hard service however, is evidenced from the fact that when he went away his hair was black, but it is now heavily tinged i with gray. He wears three gold chevrons on his left sleeve indicat ing 18 monthe overseas service an t i has to carry his discharge papers I with hiin all the time, as he is repeatedly stopped by officers in even-city demanding to know where he got the the three chevrons, it being a very rare thing for a man to have-seen such long service abroad. Mr I-Iouchin is now with his wife at Linton, where he has accepted employment. He is well known in Petersburg, being a son of the late Commodore Houchin.
