Fischer, Polk-st, who recently received his wings as a pilot and was commissioned a second lieutenant, arrived here last night to spend a week’s furlough with his parents.Fischer received his wings andcommission recently at exercisesfor army air force aviation cadets held at Luke Field in Phoenix, Arizona, and his father was present for the exercises. The ceremonies were open only to members of the cadets* families and there were approximately 400 in the class.Lieut. Fischer left Cleveland on July 30, 1942 and received his pre-flight training at Santa Ana, Cal., his preliminary training at Thunder Bird Field, No. 1, Phoenix, his basic training at Pecos, Texas, and his advanced work at Luke Field.
