Humphreys IsCalled To Duty AtFort Custer, Mich.Lieut. Howard Humphreys of the W. M. A. faculty has been called into the Army service to report for dutys*at Fort Custer, Michigan, by April 25th. He will go on active duty for at least a year as a Second Lieutenant, Infantry. He stated that he is being called in this early because maneuvers are to be held in June.Lieut. Humphreys, a graduate of Western, Class ,’36, has been on the staff here two years as an assistant in the commandant's and military departments. He has also helped with the Lower School and has coached soccer, golf, football, swimming, baseball, etc. A star athlete while in school, he has rendered valuable assistance in sports.Lieut. Humphreys, though a young man, has won the esteem and liking of all cadets. He has been a very efficient officer. He knows and likes boys, and they like him. Though firm in his duties, he has been friendly and fair in all of his contacts. He has thrown himself into the life of the school with loyalty and zest.Cadets will regret to lose Lieut. Humphreys, but their best wishes will go with him for success in his Armvtocareer;, Maj.
