Lawrence E. CousinsLawrence E. Cousins, who retired after 25 years of service in 1970 as chaplain of the Veterans Administration Hospital, will be one of the five outstanding alumni of Culver-Stockton College. Canton. Mo., to be honored Friday.Cousins will receive a Medallion of Recognition during a formal convocation at Alumni Recognition Day activities. He is a 1927 graduate of the college, and will conducta seminar for Culver-Stocktonstudents.Cousins became chaplain of the VA hospital in 1945 when he returned from a two-vearWassignment with the 78th U.S. .Army Infantry in Europe.Until he entered the Army, he was associate pastor at Central Christian Church. S. Palouse and E. Alder, from 1941-43.Cousins is a former Walla Walla city councilman and Citizen of the Year.
