Jimmy Farris Named 'Tops At Air BaseLORING AIR FORCE BASE, MAINE (Special to The Re-view)~Arniy Specialist Five Jimmie D. Farris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Devon Farris, 612 S. 12th St., Nederland, Tex., was selected as Soldier of the Quarter for the 3d Missile Battalion here.Specialist Farris, a radar maintenance specialist in Battery C, 3d Missile Battalion, 61st Artillery, was named over other top soldiers in the battalion on the basis of his superior knowledge of military affairs, current events, conduct and soldierly appearance.A board of officers and non - commissioned officers from the battalion made the selection.The unit to which Specialist Farris is assigned is part of the 1st Army Air Defense Command that extends from Maine to South Carolina and we;st to Ohio.He entered the Army in August 1962 and was last stationed at Fort Bliss, Tex.The 22-year-old soldier is a 1962 graduate of Nederland High School. His wife, Sharon, lives in Caribou, Maine.
