Senior Sanford Enlists In USAF• Richard J. Sanford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. Sanford of 420 4'fh Street. Tyrone, PA 16686, enlisted in the United States Air Force’s Delayed Enlistment Program today, according to TSgt Lew Smith, Air Force recruiter for Altoona.Airman Sanford will be a 1984 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. He is scheduled for enlistment in the Regular Air Force on Oct. 18. 1984. Upon graduation from the Air Force’s six weeks basic training course, he is scheduled to receive technical training in Electronic Aptitute Index Area.He will be earning credits toward an associate degree in applied sciences through the Community College of the Air Force while attending basic and other Air Force technical training schools.
