Veterans CelebrateThe fiftieth anniversary of the battle of Shiloh was celebrated in Boonville by a rally of old soldiers Monday night. Tins.historic bat* i tie was fought on Sunday and Monday, 1862, and resulted in a erushiug defeat for the Confederates .The local veterans, who, by the way, are becoming scarce as hen's teeth, met in their quarters in the basement of _the court house. Several comrades from Evansville were present and the force assem-. bled being considered strong enough for the purpose the Confederates were re-engaged and several**battles of the Civil War were refought with the usual results—the Confederates were everywhere routed.
