Townsend Receives Navy Promotion; Aboard ShipBilly Townsend, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Townsend of Fort Stockton, was recently promoted to Second Class Chief Petty Officer Inthe Navy.Townsend, a graduate of Fort Stockton High School,Is serving aboard the destroyer USS Dennis J. Buckley off the coast of South Vietnam. The ship’s mission Includes the rescue of downedAmerican pilots.Townsend Is a radar sonar technician aboard the ship.
