In 1861, Acton had a celebration in memory of the Concord fight and the Sixth Regiment's mem-oitfble inarch through Baltimore, at which time die survivors of the “Old Sixth” came out of respect for the venerable Captain Daniel Tuttle, who so gallantly led his company through that southern city.The celebration of this date con-siated of the firing of salutes, ringIn like manner. Acton celebratedits one hundredth anniversary on*April 19. 1875. The town enjoyed a local celebration and also took part in Concord's festivities, which were attended by a large majority of Acton’s citizens and bv a company of Acton Minutemen. Following is from an article printed in the Acton Patriot 'a newspaper of the time) April an article printed in the Acton Pat 24. 1875:Well may Acton feel proud of the company of Minutemen which represented the town in the procession at Concord. Their soldierly appearance and the precision of their movements would have done credit to veterans. Much credit is due Captain Ilanlev and other officers of the company for bringing to such perfection in so short a time a body of men comparatively unskilled In military matter.”Also taken from the Acton Patriot is a list of Acton Minutemen.
