Committee Named To Prepare For Marine Corps MeetJimci Britcher has beer* ap-pointed chairman of a committee from the Holmes-Wetherlngton Detachment, Marine Corpe League, the local unit, to lay plana for * forthcoming state convention to be held here.Jack Maughm, commandant, appointed Britcher and accepted assignment on the committee him-aelf.Britcher'i appointees are:Finance: William Morris and Jerry Parks.Printing matter and advertising; Charles Shortt, George Anderson, and Louis LoCaslro.Registration and tickets: Robert Koppenhofer.Memorial services: CharlesShortt.Dinner dance: Richard Luzier.Publicity: Jack Maughan,Devil Dogs observance: Joe SolO’ mone and Richard Luzicr.The convention is to be held at Shamrock Village May 31-June 1. However, it is expected that delegates throughout the slate will start arriving early to observe Memorial Day here.Commandant Maughan said there are approximately 150 ex-Marines in Fort Pierce who do not belong to the local detachment. To these former Leathernecks, he has extended a cordial Invitation to join in the convention, and meet, perhaps, war-time buddies.
