I TO RECEIVE AIR PILOT(COMMISSION THIS MONTHJERRY GRAVESAbove is a rceent photo of Jerry Graves, 23-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Phil H. Graves, of 336 St. John street, Neosho, who this month will receive his commission as a pursuit pilot in the U. S. Air Corps, at Stockton Field, California, after which he' will be assigned to active duty. IJerry graduated from the Neosho high school in 1936, where he was active in athletics, especially in basketball and football. He later completed three years at Missouri University and two years at Arkansas University, lacking only six months of securing a degree in the legal profession at the time of his enlistment.When he completes his Air Corps schooling some time this month and is assigned to active duty as a pursuit pilot, Jerry will be carrying out a tradition of his family which has seen some member in the U. S. forces as a commissioned officer in every war in which this country has been involved. His father, Phil H. Graves, was a member of the A. E. F., being a Captain at the time of his discharge. Mr. Graves has just returned from a trip to California to visit his son there.-
