December 26fh, 1862.Dear PressAlthough I wrote you on the 24th, yet I am constrained, and indeed not unwillingly, to write again today, to give vent to our good feelings and to do justice to yesterday’s entertainment and enjoyment. Hut I cannot I hope to do justice with my humblepen; however, company (’, appointed a committee to draw up a preamble and resolutions expressive of our feelings, which 1 herewith enclose, with a request that you publish it, that our friends at home may know | how we enjoyed life on Christmas Day down in Hackensack. Ark., December 25. 1862Whereas, We. soldiers of our country, in the course of human events, have landed on the hospitable shores of “Hackensack” and are happy in the discharge of our duties, and among the good things of this land, t herefore.RESOLVED. 1st, That we havebad a “Merry Christmas,” (ginger snaps, tut key and pound cake. in-Ueluded t.«!IIRESOLVED. 2nd.
