GOLD STAR MOTHERSMEMORIAL GIVEN TO WOMEN WHO LOST SONS IN WARPleasant Evening Spent At American Legion Rooms. Delegatee Elected And Musical Program Put OnThere was a large number of ladies who responded to the invitation to be present with the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion at the Legion hail last evening when gold stars were given to the gold star mothers who live in the jurisdiction of,the local cam| :Mrs J A. Laird most capably presided over the evenings work, she being the president of the Auxiliary It was decided to have a social on the evening of the twenty-first of April and atwhich time the price of admission will be the purchase of a cup and plate at the door, something novel. Mrs. J. L. Ward one of the enthusiastic workersof the Auxiliary was elected delegate to the state convention which will be held at Cedar Rapids in May and Mrs. M. C. Carls was elected as alternate An interesting judicial program was presented, consisting of two beautiful vocal numbers by Mrs. Jackson and with Mrs. Ruth Galer as accompanist and two very acceptable vocal solos by Mrs. Jack Walker and in instrumen tal number on strings by Misses Margaret. Betty and Josephine Rogers andMrs. Rogers at the piano.Gold Pins PresentedMres. J. L. Ward presented the gold stars to the mothers present and Mrs. Tribby and Mrs. Carpenter expressed the appreciation of the mothers to the members of the Auxiliary.The mothers receiving the goldstars and their sons are as follows;— Mrs. Tribby—Bob Tribby wounded Sept, 12. 1918. Argonne Forrest, Oct. 11, 1918.Mrs. Long—Roy Long, on observation front at Mount Faucon, shell burst and was wounded, died two days later,Oct 3, 1918. y■Mrs Loehrie William C. died July 27,1918. Chateau Thierry,Mrs. Begolty—Harry Begolty, in camp, died Sept. 26. 1918 at Springfield.
