Has Had Three Years' Service« “Charles H. Hosford, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hosford, who has beenstationed at Camp Travis, Texas, at headquarters Battalion B, 17th Field Artillery for some time, returned Thursday night, having secured his temporary release which is virtually an honorable discharge except that he is in the reserves and subject to call in emergency. Hosford enlisted three years ago at the age of 18, when a high school student. He saw extensive ser-! vice ’ overseas at Toulon, Troyes, Verdun, the Chateau Thierry sector, the Aisne-Marne campaign, in the Mar-.baebe sector, the Meuse-Argonne defensive, in the Champagne, and the Meuse-Argonne offensive. He was seriously ill in hospital but fortunately escaped without wounds. At Fort Travis the men, who are now largely recruits, are Iheeeiving drilling inhorsemanshjp, field gunnery and otherregular army wofk.
