NAVAL RESERVE BUREAU BUSY FILING ENROLLMENTSChief Clerk Edmund McGann of the Naval Reserve Force Bureau at the Charlestown Navy Yard put in a busy day in his office yesterday, endeavoring to catch up with the rush of enrollments of the past week, reports of which piled in from the reserve stations in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He was assisted by Miss Elsie Spear who was recently enrolled in the Naval Reserve Force as yeoman, first class.Members of the crews of the warshipsat the Navy Yard were allowed shoraliberty during the day and night and acouple of automobiles left the Navy Yard with sailors. On the autos were enlistment signs and the name of thebattleship.There was unusual activity indoorsin the machine and construction shops at the yard. There was also repair work inside some of the warships. Last week 800 additional workmen were added to the working force in the Navy Yaid and it was announced that more skilled mechanics were required.
