Madeline F. Ear! Weds Arthur W. HerseyMiss Madeline F. Earl, daughter of Mr. Mrs. Harry Earl of Pleasant st. was united in marriage with Arthur W. Hersey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hersey of Bowdoin street, last Saturday afternoon at St. John the Evangelist Church. The’ single-ring ceremony was solemnized by Msgr. Richard J. Quinlan. Following the ceremony, a ' reception for 150 guests was held at the Paul Roger House in Revere.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory satin with a yoke of illusion net. Her skirt was a cascade of ve?ie-tian lace rufflles and terminated in a long train. Her finger-tip illusion veil fell from a coronet of Venetian lace trimmed with orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white roses with center orchid and streamers of lily-of-the-valley.Her sister, Mrs. Barbara Flessas, as matron of honor, „ was gowned in burnished gold satin. Her headdress was a coronet of gold tulle with a matching feather. She wore matching lace mitts and carried a bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums and blue dephinium. The bridesmaids, Betty Jessop of Norwell, cousin of the bride, Thelma Clough of Dover, Betty Fleming and Mrs. Jean Hersey Oliver, sister of the groom, wore peacock blue satin with matching lace mitts and coronets of blue tulle with matching feather. They carried bouquets of gold chrysanthemums with blue delphinium.The flower girls, Dorothy M. Earl of Revere, niece of the bride,and Ann Crossman of Winthrop, were gowned in peacock blue taffeta with matching tulle headpieces and lace mitts. They carried baskets of rose petals.Frederick Hersey served his brother as best man. The ushers were John H. Earle of Washington, D. C., brother of the bride, James Hersey and Robert Hersey, brothers of the groom, and Kenneth Oliver, brother-in-law of the groom.The bride’s mother wore sheer black wtih pink accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds. The grooms’ mother was gowned in a taupe dress with grey accessories and wore a corsage of white gardenias.The bride is a graduate of Win-thrdp High School, class of 1943.
