Jtecstwrrn.—At the family residence on West 'third street, At 12:30 a. m. Sunday, Sept. 25th, 1898, of typhoid fever, Mrs. Hattie Tracy Beckwith, daughter of John D. Tracy, Esq., and wife of Dr. T. W. Beckwith, aged S3 years, 1 month, 23 days,Mrs, Beckwith, whose maiden name was Hattie Kirkland Tracy, waa bora at Springfield, Mara., on Aug. 2,18S9, and was married in this city Nov. 5, 1834. to Dr, Beckwith. Three little children, two daughters and a aon, survive the mother. This lady’s death, unexpected as it was, causes profound sorrow throughout the best circles of social life In this city, io which society she moved and was much esteetaed, and the sympathy' of 'many friends goea out to Dr. Beckwith ana his little ones, and to the sorely bereaved father, Mr. Tracy, who three times within a brief period hea passed under Hod’s chastening rod, and on Tuesday saw his only child, the idol, of his mature years, laid away at Riverside.„ Mrs. Beckwith accompanied her husband on the Knights Templar excursion to the Rockies last month, and while west contracted mountain fever, which seized her shortly after her return, and later developed into typhoid .fever, which disease, despite the best medical aid obtainable, carried her away In the full bloom of womanhood. The funeral occurred-at 2 p..m.:-Tneadayf-Rer*- . S. S.-Palmer, the deceased’s pastor, officiating. The many beautiful floral ■ pieces, and the long line of carriages in the funeral procession, bore testimony to the high regard in which the deceased was held by our people.
