The music for the occasion was furnished by Prof. Francis Mueller and his son Frank, which is a sufficient guarantee that it was flrst-class. Perhaps the most pleasant part ef the evening’sentertainment was the presentation of a magnificent silver mounted cane by the ladies of Bethlehem Lodge to P.L. 8. P. Shannon.The presentation was made by P. O. Al. rtweetser, in a short and appropriate speech. The Captain was takenentirely by surprise, and it was somemiuutes before hecoul • fully realize the situation and reply in fitting term*. The cane is a very fine one and bears this inscription : Presented to Bro.8, P. Shannon, by the ladies of Bethlehem Lodge. No. 32, Degree of He-becca, Hept, 27th, 1872.” This testimonial is alike creditable io the ladies, and deserved by the Captain.
