Reinert-Thornton WeddingSolemnized in HubbardMiss Ruth Reinert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Reinert of Hubbard and Dale R. Thornton, son of Mrs. Emma Thornton and the late Guy Thornton of Hubbard were married at 7 p. m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at St. Johns Lutheran in Hubbard with the Rev. Martin E.Pape officiating at the double ring ceremony.Mrs. Martin E. Pape presided at the organ, playing the traditional nuptial music and accompanied Anne Gerlach as she sang “The Wedding Prayer and “ O Perfect Love.” The altar was decorated with candelabra, garden asters and baskets of lavendar mums and asters and white pompons.The bride given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of imported Chantilly lace and pleated tulle over taffeta, featuring a fitted bodice and long tapered j sleeves. A pleated panel of tulle accented the lace skirt. The fingertip veil of silk illusion fell from a cap of rows of pearls accented with rhinestones and sequins. Her only jewelry was a double strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom. She carried a crescent bouquet of purple and white asters.Maid of honor was Miss Helen Reinert, sister of the bride. She wore a ballerina length gown of; mint green taffeta with overskirt of net and net trim with rhin-stones. She wore a matching tulle j headdress with flowers. Miss Joan-Winter, cousin of the bride was bridesmaid. She wore a lavender taffeta ballerina gown accented with net trimming and a matching headdress of tulle and flowers. Both attendants carried crescent bouquets of white and lavender asters.Best man was Keith D. Thornton, brother of the bridegroom of San Antonio, Tex. Groomsman was Kenneth M. Thornton, brother of the bridegroom of Iowa Falls. Ushers were Wilbert Reinert, jr., brother of the bride and Dean Luhman, cousin of the bridegroom of Radcliffe. Candle lighters were Ronald and Donald Thornton, nephews of the bridegroom.For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Reinert wore a blue two piece dress with black accessories. The bridegroom’s mother wore an autumn green dress with pink accessories. Both wore corsages of pink asters.A reception was held immediately following the ceremony in the church parlors for 150 guests. Garden flowers were used throughtout the rooms in decorations.tiiiThe serving table was centered with a three tier wedding cake with lavender and mint green decorations topped with a miniature bride and groom.Mr. and Mrs. Oren Dreier of Hubbard were reception hosts. Mrs. George Heinzeroth of Alden and Mrs. W. C. Reinert of Hubbard cut and served the cake. Waitresses were Miss Nancy Winter, Denice and Debra Dreier, Virginia Risse, Karen Zoske and Kathy Wolf. Others assisting in serving were Mrs. H. C. Geriach, Mrs. Vern Dubberke, Mrs. Louie Dubberke and Mrs. Clara Dubberke. The gifts were cared for by Mrs. Forrest Dubberke of Des Moines and Miss Doris Blome of Hubbard. Miss Joyce Janssen presided at the guest book.3:The bride is a graduate of the Hubbard high school and has been employed in the Chenowith and Dunn law office. Mr. Thornton is a graduate of the Hubbard high school, served 31 years in the armed service with 15 months spent in Korea. He is now a student at Iowa State college where they will be at home at Terrace Trailer Park, Route 3, Ames.Guests attending the^wedding were from Manson, Webster City, Iowa Falls, Alden, Buckeye Hubbard, Farnhamville, Radcliffe, Mitchell, Des Moines and San Antonio, Tex.—O—Mrs. Brucc McAfee and Mrs.John Moore visited Geneseco, Gilman and Toledo last week in charge of educational seminars, all day meetings in each town, held for this district in connection with W. S. C. S. work. Mrs. McAfee is serving her fourth year as district secretary of supply work. Mrs. Moore is serving as vice-president of the district. Mrs. Kermith Huehn, president of the Eldora W. S. C. S. attended the meeting held at Gilman.
