C. Malone’s birthday was the signal for a double feature event Tuesday.In the morning Mrs. Opal Willisarranged an apron shower in honor of Mrs. Malone.Present were Mrs. Mabel Knole, Mrs. Jennie Querry, Mrs. Mary White, Mrs. Bill Johns, Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Lillie Oliver, Mrs. Tom McGee, and Mrs. Wilkie. Chester Warren, to serve as best man and ushers were Oda McKern and Charles Warren.Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at Painters Tearoom, where a threetiered wedding cake crested with a miniature bridal couple centered the bride’s table.When Mr. and Mrs. Bedman left for a Ozark honeymoon she was wearing a suit of dusty rose with brown accessories and a corsage of white carnations.The new Mrs. Bedman, a graduate of the Leon high school, class of 1950, is now employed in the Lucas county welfare office. Mr, Redman, also graduated from the Leon high school, class of 1949, and is now employed in the Decatur county soil conservation office at Leon.Mr. and Mrs. Bedman are now at home at 1014Vi Court ave., Chariton.* * :*Mrs. Snyder Is Lakeside HostessMrs. W. L. Snyder was hostess to the Lakeside club at her homo Tuesday afternoon, Mrs. Theodore Peterson was cohostess. Seventeen members and three children were present.Lois Curtis conducted the afternoon program with contests and guessing games. Prizes were given to Mrs. Hattie Spencer, Nellie Myers, Ardys Shanks and Gae Pedigo.* * *Colo Girl Bride of Nicholas WhitlatchOn Saturday, Sept. 1, in the presence of immediate families and friends, Mary Elizabeth Liston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Liston, of Colo, and Nicholas W. Whitlatch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Aneil Whitlatch, of Chariton were united in marriage.The Bev. John Gregory, pastorThe bride’s mother chose for her daughter’s wedding a royal blue frock with gold accessories. Her corsage was of yellow roses. Mrs. Whitlatch wore a wine toned suit with black accessory accents and an orchid corsage.The newly-weds left for Omaha, Nebr., on a honeymoon trip. For traveling Mrs. Whitlatch chose a grey wool gabardine suit, the top of which was checked with royal blue and white. Her accessories were royal and grey.Mrs. Whitlatch attended Iowa State Teachers college and for the past twe years has been attending Iowa State college where she has been studying in the division of nome economics. Nicholas will gractuai? from Iowa State this year. He is a member of the Sigma Delta Chi, honorary journalistic fraternity and Pi Kappa Alpha social fraternity.The couple will be at home, 224 Hayward, in Ames.Miss Patterson and Joe Bahr WedMr. and Mrs. William Patterson announce the marriage of their daughter, Dollie Mae, to Joe Bahr, son of Mr. and Mrs. William J, Bahr, of Lucas.The young couple exchanged their vows in the home of the Rev. W. L. Peters of the First Baptist church Sunday, Sept. 23, at 9 a. m.Miss Patterson wore for her wedding a blue suit with brown accessories and a shoulder corsage of red roses. Miss Margaret Reid was the bride’s only attendant.
