WESTVILLE, Okla. -Prairie Grove got great offensive balance, passing for 169 yards and rushing for 168 Friday night, as they took a comfortable 41-12 victory over Westville.There was a lot of offense being played, said PG coach Ken Harriman, who called on nine different ball carriers “Westville had an excellent athlete at quarterback, Steve Collins, and they fought us to the final whistle ’But the Tigers dominated, rushing 48 times for 169 yards to Westvule's 35 rushes for 75 yards.Harriman credited the blocking of offensive linemen Steve Platt, Aaron Skelton, Sam Bonno, John Wilton and Jeff Edmiston, plus the all around play of tignt end Joe Craner, who caught three passes for 53 yardsOn defense, Harriman cited comerback Ken Austin, coming off an injury, and linebackers Charles Hand, Billy Mitchell, Bonno and Skelton.Westville struck first for a 6-0 lead, but Jason Waits countered with a six-yard touchdown run for Prairie Grove and Pat Woodward put the Tigers ahead 7-6 with his extra-point kick.Stili in the first quarter, PGquarterback Dennis Fletcher passed 41 yards to Mitch Bartholomew for a score and Michell tallied from three yards out, Woodward converting twice more for a 21-6 lead.In the second Quarter Fletcher passed 38 yards to Bartholomew, setting' up Mitchell’s two-yard TD AgainWoodward converted for a 28^ halftime lead.The Tigers drove 74 yards from the second-half kickoif and Mitchell scored from a yard out with 7:37 left in the period This time the kick failed, leaving the •core 34-6.In the fourth quarter Larry Pittman scored from three yards out and Waits added the PAT for a 41-6 PG lead Westville completed the scoring on a four-yard pass play.Pittman led the balanced Tiger rushing attack with 36«ards on 11 carries, followed by /aits with 32 on 7, Mitchell witn 30 on 13, Woodward with 26 on 5, and Trey Lee with 16 on 3.
