Fairfield Church Setting forStaiismith- Voorhies NuptialsMr. and Mrs. Gary Lrr Voorhies ,(Dianne Sue Staiismith) {Greens, candelabra holding lighted tapers and a large arrangement of gladioli and daisies created the setting for the Sept. 10th marriage of Dianne Sue Staiismith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David L. Staiismith, Hadley RD 2, and Gary Lee Voorhies, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clair Voorhies. Sandy Lake RD 3. The couple repeated their double ring vows at 1:30 p.m. in the Fairfield United Presbyterian Church, New Vernon. The Rev. Myron Newell officiated, assisted by the Rev. James Giesey.Prelude and nuptial selectionswere presented bp Marlyn Hill of Sandy Lake, organist, while Sue Williams offered vocal solos of ‘‘Because, ‘‘We’ve Only Just Begun and ‘‘The Lord’s Prayer”.Lace Over SatinGiven in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of Chantilly lace over delustered satin, fashioned with a wedding ring collar, long sleeves and A-line skirt. She completed herbridal attire with a double tier veil and headpiece of Chantilly lace and seed pearls, her own creation. For flowers she carried a cascade bouquet of daisies arranged atop a white BibleThree sisters of the bride, all of Hadley RD 2, served as her attendants Miss Jill Staiismith graced the role of maid of honor; Lisa Staiismith was a junior bridesmaid, and Jeannine Staiismith acted as flower girl A cousin, Miss Cindy Dunn of Meadville, was a bridesmaid. They appeared frocks topped by eyelet pinafores with the honor maid and Lisa in yellow and Miss Dunn and Jeannine wearing green The flower girl had a ring of flowers in her hair while the others wore white picture hats trimmed with green, yellow and white daisies and a ribbon matching their dresses. Each carried a colonial bouquet of daisies.The groom chose his brother, Ron Voorhies of Sandy Lake FID 3. as best man. Ushering were Alan Walker, Bruce McQuiston and Glen Walker, all friends of the groom. Mark Smith, the bride s cousin, served as ring hearer.A reception followed at NewVernon Grange Hall where Mrs. Elwood Shreckengost, Mrs. Thomas Smith. Mrs. Gary Wiggins, Miss Sherry Arbuckle and Miss Karen Bean were aides.Out-ot-town guests attended from Barnesville, O., Rosebush and Mount Pleasant, Mich , and Butler.Honeymoon TripFor their wedding trip to Niagara Falks and the Thousand Islands, the bride wore a rose colored two-piece dress accented with the daisy corsage from her wedding bouquet The newlyweds are now at home at Sandy Lite lil 3.A 1974 graduate of Commodore Perry High School, the bride has an associate degree from Thiel College and is acomputer programmer with Reznor ITT, Mercer.
