Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kasprick of Rivers were honored on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary on July 16 with a blessing at the Neepawa Roman Catholic Church, Father Socinski officiating. Later, there was a social in the Neep awa Legion hall where tables were decorated with streamers, bells and flowers. A three-tiered cake centred the cele brant’s table. The wedding party of 50 years ago attended: Angus Kasprick, twin brother of the groom who was best man; Vera Kasprick, sister of the bride, and maid of honor; Tom Popien, brother of the bride (usher) and Ros ie Kucharski, a friend (bridesmaid). Father Guy Lavallee of Rivers said Grace and addressed the honored couple. Master of ceremonies was John Popien, nephew of Mrs. Kasprick. The coup le’s granddaughters, Kim Kasprick and Charlene Baranuik attended the guest book which was signed by 200 guests. Many gifts, greeting cards and telegrams were received, as well as per sonal greetings from rel atives and friends from Pheenix, Arizona, Dun can, Dryden, Winnipeg, Kenora, Edmonton, St. Catherines, Windsor, Kee watin, The Pas, Regina, Yorkton, and Fort Mc Murray. Mr. and Mrs. Kasprick were married on Jan. 18, 1927 in Polonia where they lived and farmed for 34 years. They re sided in Brandon for 13 years prior to moving to Rivers three years ago. The couple has seven children - four daughters and three sons: Verne of Duncan, B.C., Verla, Ken and Bernice of Winnipeg, Elsie of Neepawa, Phyllis of Bernie, and Bernard of Rivers. There are 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
