MRS. WHEELOCK DIED YESTERDAYShe Never Recovered from Her Injuries.WAS RUN OVER BY A DRAYHas Not Regained Consciousness Since Saturday-The Severe Blow on the Head Brought 011 Fatal Brain TroubleAfter nearly four day* uf unconscious* ness. Mrs. Charles Whoelock passed uwayin s o'clock yesterday morning.She was struck in the street by n runaway horse on Saturday afternoon, und sho never afterwards recognised those about her, never. In fact, opened her eyes to the scenes of this world. A blow upon the head doubtless J^d to a brain trouble that nature could not overcome. She wus surrounded from the moment of Injury by loving friends. Her husband Hnd daughter end sisters and nieces never left her bedside until the vital spark had lied.Mrs. Wheelock's maiden name was Anna Cussity. Her fHlher owned a cotton factory in Florence. Ala., where the deceased was born. Her mother was Miss wieh, of Virginia, and she was a sister of the wife of Judge Wood, of Florence. She was married to Major Whoelock. the well-known Architect, hi 1STG, nnd they ramo to this city in J®2. 9h«• soon afterwards became a member of the First Methodist church. Her sisters, Mrs. H. C. Vaughn nnd Mrs. Hardle Brown, also live In Birmingham.Mrs. Whoelock was a devoted mother, and her hand was always open to the needy. She was never so happy as when she was working for others, hut she always preferred to do good by stealth.The funeral services will be held at 10 O’clock today at the First Methodist church, in these services Dr. Kelly will be 1 sainted by Dr. .Murray, of the Church of the Advent.In her younger days Mrs. Whoelock gave much of her time to the cultivation of her undoubted musical talents, and she never wholly abandoned the study of the art In some form. She leaves « wide circle of friends who will lament her sudden and untimely death.
