An afternoon wedding united Miss Joanne Kelton and Robert Lee Chenoweth on Saturday, September 14th, at 5 o'clock at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Leslie Smith officiated at the double ring ceremony.The bride is the daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Joe Bob Kelton of 1201 Veterans Blvd. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Chenoweth of 2131 Nebraska.The altar of the church was graced with six palms designed of Jade greenery. Two standing white baskets held arrangements of white gladiolus, stock and asters. Two arrangements of the same flowers with gypsophillia added were placed on the pedestal columns on either side of the altar.A white satin covered prledieucentered the altar where the couple knelt during the singing of Schirmer's “A Wedding Benediction.'1 Pews were marked with arrangements of leatherleaf, gypsophillia and white satin bows.Mrs. Clem Crowley at the organ played “TrumpetTune as the bride entered and “Trumpet Voluntary as the couple left the church. She accompanied Mrs. Ben Meek and Mrs. Bill Hubbs as they sang a duet of “The Greatest of These Is Love.The radiant bride was escorted to the altar by her father and presented in marriage by her mother and father. Her formal length cage gown was fashioned of white silk organza over a sheath ofver braid. Her accessories were matching and she wore a corsage of a white Cattleya orchid.Mrs. Chenoweth chose a silken floor length sheath of mint green with sleeves of Jewled organza. She wore matching accessories and carried a Jeweled bag. Her corsage was a white Cattleya orchid.RECEPTIONMr. and Mrs. Kelton hostedthe wedding reception at 6p.m. at the Pecos Valley Country Club.Receiving the guests were Mr. and Mrs. Kelton, Mr. and Mrs. Chenoweth and the bride and groom.The guest registry table was laid with a deep hot pink taffeta underskirt with a white tulle overskirt. It held the bride's book and a hot pink feathered pen. A memory candle graced the table and was encircled with pink miniature carnations and gyposophillia. Presiding at the registry was Miss Janelle Kelton of Wink.The bride's table was laid with a white peau de sole cloth with a white tulle skirt topped with English Daisy lace, re-embroidered with irride-scent sequins and seed pearls. A centerpiece of white roses, stock and asters in a silver and crystal epergne was flanked with candelabra holding white tapers. Silver and crystal appointed the table. The bride's wedding cake was a five-tiered columned confection topped with cherubs flanked by a tulle circlet and wedding bells with white stockThe bride is a graduate of Pecos High School and is a senior student at Texas Tech in Lubbock majoring in Elementary Education. The groom is a graduate of Pecos High School and a senior Civil Engineering major at Texas Techwhere he is a member of Sigma Chi social fraternity. The couple will be at home at Lubbock Mobile Lodge.REHEARSAL DINNERMr. and Mrs. Chenoweth hosted the rehearsal dinner in honor of their son and his bride-to-be and members of the wedding party at the Pecos Valley Country Club on Friday, September 13th, at 9p.m.A roast beef and fried chicken buffet was served.BRUNCHMrs. Tommy Cowan, Mrs. Ed Bourke of Fort Worth, and Mrs. Cliff Preslar hosted a wedding day brunch for the bride and her friends at 11 a.m. at the American Motor Inn dining room.T-shaped tables were centered with an arrangement of hot pink asters, miniature pink carnations and ming fern designed in a stainless steel collander and accented with numerous kitchen gadgets and placed on a cheese grater.Individual places were m irked with miniature bridesmaids fashioned of avocado green dish cloths and tied with hot pink ribbons.A menu of Catawaba grape juice, bacon, pigs in blankets, scrambled eggs, jellies, hot biscuits, coffee, milk, and juices was served.
