Alexander. of Van Abtyne. but formerly of McKinney, became the bride of Robert Hugh Hawkins, of Dallas. Sunday afternoon. September 19. at 4 o clock at the home of her parents. Rev. James Simpson Jr.. pastor of the Honey Grove Metho-dist Church, was the officiating minister.An improvised altar was arranged with greenery in the background. before which baskets of white gladioli were used. Standards holding candles were interspersed in the setting.Mrs. R. E. B. Fielder presented the wedding music.The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an emerald green velvet street length dress, made with off shoulder design with pearl embroidery on the neckline. The frock was made with elbow length, push up sleeves, and she wore a white velvet leaf hat and veil and white accessories. She carried a white Bible upon which was a shower bouquet of gardenias, and her only jewelry was a pearl neck lace.Miss Betty Wrenn of Sherman, was maid of honor and wore a taffeta street length dress in green and gold, with a gardenia corsage. Vernon Gilley of Dallas was best man and Miss Nancy Hughes, of Van Alstyne, lighted the candles.Following the wedding a reception was held with the dining room carrying out the bride's chosen colors of pink and white. The table was centered with an arrangement of pink asters and white gladioli. The wedding cake was cut by Miss Bonnie Trotter, and Miss Mary Ann Beseda, presided at the bride’s book.Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins left for a wedding trip to South Texas after which they will be at home in Dallas. For traveling the bride chose a grey suit, with yellow blouse, and black accessories.Mrs Hawkins was born in McKinney. but had resided in Van Alstyne the past few years. She finished High School in Denton and attended Incarnate Ward in San Antonio.Mr. Hawkins, the son of BartoHawkins of Dallas, graduated from the Dallas High School.Out of town guests for the wed ding included Mr. and Mrs. W\ F. Alexander .of Bonham. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Burgess. Miss Carrie Talking ton. Mrs. Clarence Allen. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Daniels and Mrs. W.
