GENERAL.Last Wednesday, another one of Upper Alton’s fair daughters, entered the matrimonial relation. Miss Maria Atkins, youngest daughter of (’apt. John Atkins, was married 10 Mr. John Elwell, of St. Louis* M. A. Lowe s tine house is being enclosed rapidly: the tinners and slaters are putting on the roof. Tuesday afternoon one of the slaters fell from the scaffolding, some twenty-three fwt, but received no serious injuries.
