Sandra Sue BlandWeds J. W. AdamsMiss Sandra Sue Bland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Estle Bland of R. R. 6, became the bride of John W. Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Adams of 1526 South Twentieth Street, in a double ring ceremony at 2:30 o’clock yesterday afternoon at the Otter Creek Christian Church. «Officiating in the presence of a large group of relatives and friends was the Rev. George Bur-don, and providing special music was Miss Sharon Shores, organist. Two pedestal baskets of white gladioli, with palms on each side decorated the altar. There also were lighted white cathedral tapers in tiered candelabra, and white satan bows marked thepews.Attending the couple were Miss Linda Bland, maid of honor; Mrs, Linda Adams, bridesmaid; Bill Adams, best man; Phillip Shelton and John Voges, ushers, and Edward Bland, Groomsman.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white chapel sweep gown of while imported Chantilly lace and nylon tulle. The fitted bodice of lace was styled with a scalloped Sabrina’ neckline, etched with sequins and pearls, and long tapering sleeves. The voluminous skirt of lace and tulle was highlighted down the back with a cascade of lace and tulle ruffles. The bride wore a scalloped lace cap of sequins with drop pearl, which held her French illusion veil, and carried an arrangement of white carnations, with pink rose corsage in the center.+ + +BOTH YOUNG women attendants were gowned alike in bal-lerina-Iength, full-skirted orchid dresses with lace overskirts and jackets. They wore matching headbands and shoes, and their flowers were white carnations tinted with orchid.Immediately following the ceremony, a reception for 125 guests was held in the church basement. A pink wedding bell with pink streamers was suspended over the three-tiered wedding cake which centered the table. Assisting in serving were Mrs. Betty Bland, Mrs. Marv Bland and Miss Judy Thompson. Miss Patty Elwell was in charge of the guest book.After a short wedding trip, the couple will live at R. R. *6. The bride's going-away outfit was a light blue sheath dress with matching jacket, worn with black accessories and her pink rose corsage.the home of Mrs. Malcolm Wright of 116 Berkeley Drive, Woodridge Park.At 8:50 o’clock tomorrow morning, golfers of the club will play at Rea Park, weather permitting.Luncheon and an afternoon of cards will be enjoyed by the canasta group of the club at noon tomorrow at the Shrine Temple.Antiques and interior decorating group of the club will meet at 7 o’clock Wednesday evening in the banquet room of Louise's Restaurant for a country style dinner. A program on modern trends in flooring by the Armstrong-Cork Company will be given by a representative of the Terre Haute Glass Company, Members will be held responsible for uncancelled dinner reservations.At 12:30 o’clock Thursday, the afternoon bridge group of the club will meet at Louise's Restaurant. Mrs. Ralph Learnard will be hostess.Evening crafts group of the club will meet at 8 o’clock Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Donald Graham of 144 East Luren Boulevard, Lincolnshire.Mrs. James Walsh of Kent Avenue will be hostess for the first meeting of the new club year of Kent Avenue Woman's Club Wednesday evening at her home. Mrs. Carl Evinger will have meditation, after when there will he a business meeting with Mrs. George Sabiston, president, presiding.The club's constitution will be discussed and Mrs. Robert Prox will present a travel talk as the evening’s program.First regular meeting of the new club year of the Terre Haute Branch of the National Story League will be held at 7:30 o’clock this evening at the home of Miss Vesta Harvey of 650 Lafayette Avenue. Stories will be told by Mrs. Christine Clark, Miss Freida Martin and Miss Mae Tribble.Opening the dub year of the Wednesday Tourist Club will be 1:30 o’cock dessert meeting Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Robert Pickard of 513 Siidh Twenty-first Street. The assisting hostess will be Mrs. Floyd Phil-lips.Mrs. Pickard, president, will preside at the business session, and the afternoon program will be a book review of “The Dedicated.” by Willa Gibbs, given by Miss Florence Richards.I Department Club
