Judge At San Francisco Permits Two High School Students to WedSAX FRANCISCO lt;l!P)—Justice relented today to lettwo 15 year-old high schoolstudents marry for the sake oftheir unborn child.So Cecilia Ramirez and Manuel Del Llano, who tried in vain for several months to get a license, until they finally announced they were about to become parents, were expected at the marriage bureau today,As soon as they learned Superior Judge George Ste'ger s verdict they put on their wedding clothes and raced down to the bureau yesterday evening. But they were a few minutes too late and the office was closed.Manuel said he was making at his job of playing a guitar restaurant orchestra, and he well able to support a family.Juvenile Probation Officer R. R. Miller was still opposed to tlv* marriage. He sa'd the baby should be born out of wedlock and madegood in a wasa ward of the juvenile court.But Judge Steiger, who was the authority, gave his blessing.My first consideration is for the unborn child,” the judge said. “The baby has as much right to a name as you or I have and I do not Intend to deprive it of this right.”At first he had objected to the marriage. The couple w'as too young, he said; they ought to be In school; such a marriage would bea challenge to the state's educational system, and besides, Manuel had a record for delinquency in juvenile court; he was not qualified to become a husband. |Then the lovers presented thejudge with a certificate from a physician saying that Cecilia wTas about to have a baby. Her parents had approved the marriage. Llano is without close relatives.In changing his mind. Judge Steiger said ”1 feet the couple »sent tied to a chance regardless ofpast mistakes.”
