Bascom Fearing and Hank Brown.Immanuel Lutheran Church was the scene of the wedding of Miss Phoebe Gladys Torneden, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Albert Torneden, and Gaylord M. Schneck Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord M. Schneck Sr., Sunday afternoon, Aug. 22. The double ring ceremony was read by the Rev. H. William Lieske, of Topeka, before an altar of white gladioli with a background of green fern.Preceding the service Ronnie Barrett lighted the tapers and Miss Joyce Nehrbass sang. “O Perfect Love” and “The Lord's Prayer.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a waltz length gown of white satin, with a deep scalloped yoke of Chantilly lace with long maching sleeves, The full skirt, was gathered onto the bodice with a scalloped waistline. Her waist length veil of nylon fell from a scalloped fiara made of satin and lace and decorated with tiny seed pearls. Her only jewelry was a single strand of pearls, a gift of the groom, and she carried a colonial bouquet of red roses and white chrysanthemums.Miss Vivian Henry, maid of honor, wore a dress of light green antique taffeta with matching hat and shoes, she carried a colonial bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums. Little Martha Shirk, niece of the bride, who was dressed in yellow taffeta, scattered rose petals.Merle Schneck served his brother as best man. Ushers were Harold Torneden brother of the bride, and Ronald Johnson, cousin of the bridegroom.The bride’s mother wore a dress Of figured antique taffeta with red accessories and a red rose corsage. The mother of the-bridegroom wore ft two-piece dress of navy nylon mesh, with pink accessories and a corsage of pink carnations. The grandmothers of the groom, Mrs. Ella Schneck and Mrs. BessieBuck, wore navy gowns and red rosebud corsages.Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church lounge, where Mrs. W. T. Bleakley cut the three-tiered cake, which had been made by Mrs, Buck. Mrs. Harold Shirk, sister of the bride, presided at the punch bowl. Miss Caroline Torneden had charge of the guest book. Miss Maxine Gantz and Miss Bettadou Torneden assisted with the gift*.Mr. and Mrs. Schneck have returned from their honeymoon which they spent in Minnesota, and are now at home at 520.0. St.
