A Happy Event. On Thursday Sept. 7th at the resilence of Air. Laborde, Rock Grove,[11., was married his prepossessing laughter, Susan Laborde, to Mr. Greo. A. Fox of Cedarville. It was indeed a gala day. Friends and rel-itives had been invited from far and iear, and long before the ceremony was performed nearly a hundred people had gathered to do honor the occasion. All desiring to witness the marriage, and as the house not affording this privilege to so many, it was decided to have the rite performed on the lawn facing the house. Just as the sun reached the meridian, all protected by the friendly shade of the trees, the happy couple accompanied by Air. James Laborde, Air. Wm. Bender, Miss Clara Wise and Miss Anna Crumbling, presented themselves before the waiting minister, Rev. D. E. Rupley, when the solemn and beautiful service of the lu-theran church was read, and in a few moments the two were made one. The happiest congratulations followed, the best of wishes given; but before half was performed the invitation was heard, “Come to the feast.” It was indeed a festive board. The table groaned under the weight of good things, and each vied with the other in doing justice to them. After the inner man had been satisfied, amusement of all kinds was enjoyed, and as the day waned the friends reluctantly returned to their homes, and the bride and groom to their already furnished house in Cedarville; where, we hope all the blessing imaginable will follow them.As far as we have learned the following is the list of presents:Father and mother of bride, a bedroom set, a set of dishes and a cow; John Laborde pitcher; Mr. and Mrs. Jos.
