At Kirkland, in that I State, they recently attended the J golden wedding of Mr. and Mr*. I Henry Pixley, which, as we learn J from the U tica Herald, was a great I I social event. The presents received I by the venerable couple, who have I shared each others joys and sorrows I for a half-century were both numer* I ous and costly. An unusually large number of friends and relatives were I gathered together on the occasion I from all parts of the United States. J A most sumptuous feast was served, J and it was determined that the work Ilt; of preparing a history of the Pixleys J should be encouraged, the work to be I entrusted to Lieutenant Hanford. I The gift of Mr. and Mrs. George W. I Pixley, of this city, to the venerable and happy couple was a cake, trim- j med on its extreme upper edge with I a circle of gold dollars, in the centre J a fifty-dollar gold piece, and between J the centre and outer circle was an-1 other circular row of gold coins.
