OLIVER — LEFORTOn the warm and sunny day of June 11, 1988, Vicky Ann, only daughter of Laurence and Judy Lefort of Selkirk, became the bride of Douglas Ian, youngest son of Tom and Marian Oliver also of Selkirk. The wedding was held at the Good Shepherd LutheranChurch with Pastor Terry Throndson officiating. Mrs. Margaret Streich was the organist.The bride was radiant on her father’s arm, in the Swiss-embroidered gown of delicate nylon organza over polyester satin worn by the groom’s mother in 1961. The lily point sleeve with its richly embroidered pouffed cap, the traditional bustle back enhanced by a matching attached train and her floral wreath crown atop the long flowing silver-edged veil.Vicky’s bouquet was of star gaze lilies with dark spider greens mixed with baby’s breath. The scalloped neckline and the Austrian crystal jewelry chosen by her groom and matching bracelet once belonging to her Grandma Gabel will long be remembered by the many friends and relatives who gathered for the double ring ceremony.w ;*Maid of honor, Patti Porayko, and bridesmaids Brenda Maximchuk, Sue Hunnie and Cathy McBurney wore identical dresses of dusty rose satin. The dresses were slimline, cocktail length with a flared overlay at the hip. They carried a single matching star gaze lily with baby’s breath. The dainty sprays in their hair were dusty rose.The groom wore a white tuxedo with tails and white accessories. The best man, Greg Gunderson and ushers Keith Bowman, Greg Lefort and Darcy Oliver wore silver-grey tuxedos with tails and rose accessories.The bride’s mother chose soft yellow and the groom’s mother wore pink.The mothers each read scriptures and a loving blessing was given by the parents to the bride and groom. Soloist, Doreen Senior of California, aunt of the bride, sang “For There is Love.’’ The reception was held at the Holy Eucharist Parish Hall. The happy couple are residing in Flin Flon, Manitoba.
