The Rev. Randall McCollum, pastor of First Baptist Church in Rice, officiated for the double ringceremony.The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother-in-law, Gene L. Thomas of Fort Sill, Okla., is the daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Aaron Ferguson Montgomery of Eureka. Mr. and Mrs. Dow Mahaley of Rice are parents of the bridegroom.Vows were exchanged in acandlelight setting- created by four gold candelabra holding white tapers and centered by a fan arrangement of white gladioli, chrysanthemums and daisy pompons, accented with white satin ribbons. Family pews were marked with white satin bows,Jamie Parker was at the organ to provide traditional wedding music.Wedding AttendantsMatron of honor was Mrs. Beverly Parish of Eureka, and bridesmaids were Misses Sharon Stubbs and Cassie Kloeeker of Corsicana and Miss Sheila Ashby of Mildred.Little Miss Donna Montgomery of Eureka, a cousin of the bride, was flower girl, and Master Charles Babbitt of Crockett, the bridegroom's cousin, served as ring-bearer.Jack Farish of Eureka served as best -man, and groomsmen included Joe Flannagan of Corsicana, Billie Babbitt of Crockett, a cousin of the bridegroom, and Roy Thomas of Eureka. Serving 1 as ushers were Hugh Miles South of Dallas and Jimmy Allen of Bice, cousins of the bride, and Danny Mahaley, brother of the bridegroom. Hugh South and Danny Mahaley also served as candlelighters.Bridal GownThe bride wore a floor-length gown of white bridal satin with fitted bodice heavily frosted with re-embroidered Alencon lace, outlined in pearls and embellished with imported beads and sequins. Fitted long sleeves ended in petal points at the wrists. The front of the flared skirt had appliques of matching design. Gathers and side pleats added fullness to the back of the skirt, which extended into a chapel train.The bride carried a bouquet of white orchids, surrounded by feathered carnations and poufs of white tulle, enhanced with trailing Ivy and white satin ribbons.Her attendants wore Empire dresses of deep Petunia pink, with velveteen bodices and chiffon skirts accented at the waist by a fold of matching satin. Their headdresses were satin bows on circlets of matching illusion \'eiling. They carried colonial bouquets of pink carnations with satin ribbon streamers. The flower girl, whose gown was identical to those of the bridesmaids, carried a white basket filled with rosepetals.For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Montgomery chose a two-piece silk and wool suit of frosted sherbet. Beige accessorieswere complemented by a coif hat topped with a beige rose. She wore a corsage of pink carnations.Mrs, Mahaley, mother of the bridegroom, wore a two-piece dress of moss green crepe, designed with a rolled collar, matching hat and gloves and brown accessories. Her corsage was ofpink carnations. Her twin daughters, Joyce and Janice, wore A-line frocks of peacock blue.her : of thJunkappo:partreduc:ShiReception FollowsFollowing the ceremony, a reception was held in Fellowship Hal! of the church. The young couple was assisted in greeting guests by their mothers and members of the wedding party.Rice bags were distributed by the twin sisters of the bridegroom. Miss Jill Bonner of Eureka was in charge of the bride's book, registering guests from Houston, Dallas, Crockett, Madisonville, Rice, Eureka, Ennis, Fairfield, Palestine, Navarro Chatfield, and Lawton, Okla.The bride's table, covered in a draped satin cloth held an arrangement of white gladioli and pompon mums, surrounded by the bridesmaids' bouquets. The three-tiered, columned wedding cake, decorated with roses and topped by a miniature bridal couple, was served by Mrs. Margaret Thomas, sister of the bride. Miss Ann Montgomery, the bride’s cousin, presided atthe punch bowl.Other members of the house-party included Mrs. Merle Babbitt of Crockett, aunt of the bridegroom, Miss Linda Bonner of Fairfield, and Miss Jamio Parker of Corsicana.A draped taffeta cloth covered the bridegroom's table which was centered with an arrangement of fall flowers. It held a three-tiered, columned chocolate cake, topped with deep pink roses, and a silver coffee service.For travel, the bride chose a two-piece suit of printed hop-sacking in navy, gold and American Beauty, Designed with ruffled elbow-length sleeves, the jacket featured binding in a harmonizing solid color. Accessories matched the trim, Following a wedding trip to South Texas, the couple will reside at the Methodist parsonage at Rice,The bride, a graduate of Mildred High School, is a student at Navarro Junior College. The bridegroom, who graduated from Ennis High School, is employed as salesman for Tuloma, Inc. and has ranching interests in Navarro County.inheil-District PlansWill Be MappedBPW Meetingil-thheif-The Business and Professional Women’s Club will meet Tuesday, September 14, at 7:15 p.m. at Kinsioe House. Mrs. Earl Boyd, president, will preside for the regular business session.Plans will be made for members to attend the District V Conference to be held at Holiday Inn in Waco on Saturdayand Sunday, September 17 and 18. Miss Nancy Weems of the local chapter will preside at the conference as district director. Miss Lena Rose Harvin will represent the Corsicana B PW Club on the district program.Registration will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Holiday Inn, 4901 West Waco Drive. The Waco B PW Club, for which Mrs. Vera Connally is president,will be hostesses for the district conference.Workshops of 15 minutes each i will be conducted between 4 and 5 p.m. Mrs. Geraldine R. Eidson, state treasurer of the Texas Federation, will be the featured speaker at the dinner ifiaturdav evening.
