VICKI ROED, LARRY BUTLER WEDSunday evening, Aug. 17, at the Holy Cross Church was the scene for the wed-of Vicki Lyrax Roed, daughter of Mr. anlt;! Kenneth Roed, and Larry Wayne Butler, of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Butler, all ofPastor E. W. Richter officiated at the 0 clock candlelight double ring ceremony, altar was decorated with two altar .bou-of white gladioli and yellow pomponscandelabra.The bride escorted down the white carpeted by her father and given in marriage, attired in a floor length gown of white de soie, In princess style. The empire featured a round high neckline, and tapered sleeves. The from skirt panels A-line skirt was accented with Viennesdlace, also accented at the wrists and neckline.A detachable train flowed from the back.She wore an elbow length veil of nylon illusion attached to a bow headpiece of peau de soie. She carried a white orchid on a white Bible with a cascade of yellow roses, streamers, ribbon and fern. To complete her ensemble she wore a tiny sterling silver heart shaped necklace, a gift from the groom.Miss Monna Crees of Des Moines, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Jan Butler, sister of the groom, and Margaret Mehlrnan were bridesmaids. They were gowned identically in floor length lemon yellow dotted Swiss gowns, in princess style. The empire bodice featured a high round neckline, puff sleeves and A-line skim. They wore long wide sashes of yellow and peau de soie and short whitegloves. Their headpieces were bows of yellow dotted Swiss and short veils of yellow tulle. Each carried a single long stemmed yellow mums wrapped in satin, with bows and streamer Roger Butler attended his brother as best man, Steve Shaffer of Normal, m., cousin of the groom, and Randy Smith were groomsmen.Kay Ehrman was flower girl and she worea white dotted Swiss floor length gown in empire style and puffed sleeves, with a sash of yellow peau de sole. She wore a piece of yellow peau de soie and tulle andcarried a white basket of yellow pom pons. James Crees of Des Moines, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.Following the ceremony the reception for 150 guests was held in the church parlors. Mr. and Mrs. Lauren Beaver were parlor hosts.The serving table laid with white linen was centered with a four tiered cake. The top layer was posted and topped with white bellsand yellow net. The cake was decoratedwith sugar bells and yellow roses and around ; the base was greenery.Mrs. Clarence Crees of Des Moines, cutand served the wedding cake. Mrs. Ivan James of Coming poured, and Mrs. Earl Winter of Burr Oak presided at the punch , bowl. AH are aunts of the bride.Mrs. Richard Kloppenburg, Nancy Beaver, Melissa Mehlmann, Kathy Stockham, Cheryl Scholl and Phyllis Jensen served as waitresses. Mrs. Duane Roed of Gfreenfield, sister-in-law of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. Kathy Stockham, Cheryl Scholl and Phyllis Jensen looked after die gifts.Mrs. Butler is a 1968 graduate of Anita Community .High School and attended last year at Northwest Missouri State College, Maryville, Mo. Mr.Butler is a 1989 graduate of Anita Community High School.For going away Mis. ISThe State Services for Crippled Children (SSCC) will conduct an ear, nose, and throat clinic in Guthrie Center on Thursday (Sept. 18) to provide diagnostic and evaluation services for children who have otolaryn-gological problems.The clinic will be held at the First Methodist Church, Fifth and Prairie Street. Patients from the following counties are eligible for the clinic: Adams, Adair.
