WEDDING BELLSShepherd — GriftBaskets of mauve, yellow and white gladioli adorned Cypress River Cotholic Church for a lovely double ring ceremony on Aug. 14th, 1971 at 4:30 p.m. when Rev. G. De Ruyck united in marriage Patricia Geraldine, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Grift of Cypress River, Man. and Garry John, only son of Mr. and Mrs. John Shepherd of Glenboro, Man.Gerald Michiels was the piano accordianist while Mr. Archie Richmond accompanied him on the violin.Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a full length empire waisted A-line gown of lace over taffeta with sheer billowy short sleeves and a sheer yolk withhigh neck line trimmed with embroidered white daisies. The dress was enhanced by a large bow at waist in back. A triple tiered shoulder length veil was held in place with a tiara of seed pearls and leaves of white and silver. The bride carried a bouquet of yellow roses accented with green fern and streamers of white and yellow ribbon.Attending as maid of honour was Miss Linda Grift, cousin of the bride and Miss Lynda Shepherd, sister of the groom, as bridesmaid. They wore identical floor length gowns of mauve polyester crepe with A-line skirt and empire waist with short puffed sleeves made of mauve lace, matching the lace covered bodice. They carried bouquets of yellow and white shasta daisies with matching flowers in their coiffures.
