Susan Lynne JohnstonSusan JohnstonBecomesMiss Susan Lynne Johnston became the bride of Dudley Livingston Green in the Sanctuary of the Church of the Good Shepherd Sunday evening, Aug. 11.The Rev. Everett Sweden-berg officiated at the ceremony witnessed by 350 guests.Susan is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred B. Johnston, and Dudley is son of Mr. and Mrs. Carleton Green, both of Arcadia.The bride’s gown was silk linen with a bodice of heavy, reembroidered Guipere lace accented with crystal and seed pearl beading. The gown’s train and hem were also beaded and appliqued with the same lace. Her elbow-length illusion veil was held by a bow of matching fabric, and she carried roses, stephanotis and baby breath.Honor AttendantMiss Nancy Dalbeck of La Canada, a classmate of the bride, was maid of honor. Other attendants were the Misses Robin Murphy of San Francisco, Beverly Green of Shafter, Mary Jane Threlkeld of Glendale and Steffani Allison Johnston, the bride’s sister. They wore floor length lime green crepe gowns accented with smocked short sleeves and carried yellow roses and daisy poms. Their pieces were also held with bows and moline of lime green to match the gowns. Miss Cynthia Baird assisted at the guest book.Garret Green came from New York to be his brother’s best man. Wedding guestsBridewere seated by Kendall Green, another brother, Ken Soult. Dana Johnston, the bride’s brother, and William Kanenberg of Seattle. Grandmothers of both Susan and Dudley took part in the ceremony. They are Mrs. Mary Mitsdarfer of Arcadia and Mrs. M. Livingston of Pomona.ReceptionA champagne reception followed in the garden of the bride’s parents, where the entry was lined with hurricane lamps decorated with satin ribbon. White bells hung from the patio and twinkle lights reflected in the surrounding trees. The bride’s table was skirted in white and pale yellow and was accented with silver candelabra and tapers decorated with yellow daisies. The tiered wedding cake carried out the colors and was topped with fresh flowers.The mother of the bride wore yellow linen with a cage of white lace while Dudley's mother wore aqua alaskine and a matching hat.Susan was graduated from Arcadia High School in 1963 and graduated from UCSB, receiving her teaching credential from UCLA in June. Dudley also graduated from Arcadia High School and UC at Berkeley and is finishing study for his master’s degree at San Francisco State.After a honeymoon which took them to Seattle, Vancouver and Victoria, the young couple will reside in San Mateo where Susan will teach sixth grade.
