Miss Betty Robinson Becomes Bride Of John Lloyd Pettigrew August 20Miss Betty Jane Robinson of Can ton became the bride of John Uoyd Pettigrew, Jr., of EdKCWOod in a candlelight ceremony in the First Baptist Church of Canton on August 20 at 7:30 p. m. Rev Charles Richardson. pastor, officiated.The bride Ls the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnett Robinson of Canton, and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. John Lloyd Pettigrew of Edge-wood.The double ring ceremony wasperformed before a background of candles. Two baskets of gladioli and daises were on either side of the altar.Given in marriage by her father, the bride w’as lovely in a gown of silk peau do soie. The oval neckline, bell shaped sleeves, and empire waist was accented wth embroidered appliques. The sheath skirt fell into a detachable chapel train. She carried a cascading bouquet of white carnations and daisies centered witha white orchid.Miss I^enn Dozier of Tyler was maid of honor. She was attired in agown of pale yellow peau de soie fashioned with a scoop neckline and empire waist. She carried a hasket of green and yellow daisiesBridesmaid was Miss Patsy Robinson, sister of the bride. She wore a pale green dress of the same design as the maid of itonor, and she carried a basket of green and yellow daisies.Best man was Doug Jordan ofDenton, and ushers were David Bar-ro and Russell Deaton of Terr-11Wedding music was presented by Miss Betty Jo Seale, organist, andMiss Janie Vick, soloist, who sang “The Lord's Prayer” and “WhitherThou Goest I Will Go.”The bride’s mother chose a beige silk dress with lace boidce and matching jacket, while the groom’s mother chose an aqua crepe dress with lace bodice and matching jacket.FoLiowing the ceremony, a reception was held in the home of thebride’s parents.The bride's table was laid with a white lace cloth, centered with an arrangement of yellow carnations. Miss Nancy Owen of Tyler ;ind Miss Peggy Richardson of Ixmgview cut the cake, while Miss Lynn De Woody of Tyler presided at the punch service.Miss Cheryl Owen of Tyler presided at the liride’s book.For her going away outfit, the bride chose a light yellow suit of silk with tieigc accessories.The bride Ls a graduate of Texas Eastern School of Nursing.
