M., after tieing in failing: health for a number of years, following paralysis, and critically ill the past four weeks.She was born la Surry County, August 22, IH4S6, and was the daughter of Joseph and Elisabeth Laffbon Gordon, deceased. Her entire life was spent in this community and a large number of friends join the family in mourning her passing.She had been a member of Salem Methodist Church since early childhood and was married in early life to James Anderson Greenwood, whs preceded her in death in lt!7. For a number of years prior to her death she made lier home with tarl son, J. G. Greenwood and familyHer funeral was held from Salem Church Sunday afternoon with her pastor, Rev. Robert Carter and Rev. C. N. Clark oAriaUng and interment made in the church cemetery.Surviving are four children, Joe, Will, and Mamie Greenwood of this city, and Mrs. Septer Doss, of Newport News, Va*» and one sister Mrs. R. F. Pike, of Orangeburg, S. €., and seven grandchildren, one of whom Cpi Joe P Greenwood is in the European theatre of war stationed in France.Those attending the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Septer Doss, of Newport Nswa, Vs*, Wayne Greenwood, 8 1-C, of Norfolk, Vs., Leonard Parker, P. G., of Norfolk, Vs., and Clarence C Belton, of Nashville, Tenn.
