Coates-WalckDena L. Coates, Garden City, and Travis L. Walck, Holcomb, were united in marriage July 6, 1996, at the Church of the Brethren, Garden City The 5 p.m., candlelight, double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. John Williams.The bride is the daughter of Dennis and Beverly Coates, Garden City The groom is the son of Lyman and Juanita Walck. Holcomb.Matron of honor was Shelia R. Reece, Topeka, sister of the bride. The bride's attendants were Regina Walck, Holcomb, and Brandy Rupp, Colby.Lance Walck, Holcomb, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Darren Walck. Wichita, and Shane Walck, Garden City, brothers of the groom.Tammy Walck, Wichita, was guest book attendant. Taper lighters were Travis and Jason Crockett. Holcomb.Angelina Toben, Wichita, was flower girl, and Kyle Walck. Holcomb, was ringbearer.Ushers were Jeffrey Reece, Topeka, JoDean Bumgardner, Garden City, Matt Knoll and Brian Crockett, both of Holcomb.Rita Mills, of PYiend, was organist. John Washington, soloist, and Danielle Musick, flute instrumentalist, both of Garden City, provided music. Selections were “I Cross My Heart,” “All Of Me” and the “Second Minuet.”Grandparents of the couple are Bud and Opal Wishon, Holcomb, Rosie Rupp, Garden City, and Gladys Gatti, Salina. Great grandmother is Elsie Wishon, Garden City.A reception, dinner and dance, given by the couple’s parents, followed the ceremony. Linda Hoch and her son, Garett, both of Garden City, greeted guests upon their arrival at the Eagles Lodge.Reception attendants were Diane Crockett and LeAnn Webb, both of Holcomb, Stephanie Percival, Jennifer Robinson and Samara Hunter, all of Garden City, Brook Rupp. Colby, and Cortney Toben, Wichita.Dinner attendants were Sherry Rupp of Colby, Loretta McCrea and Mary Underwood, both of Garden City, and Joetta Bumgardner, Dalhart, Texas.The bride and groom graduated from Holcomb High School in May 1995.
