Many people of this city and vicinity will be surprised to leam of the marriage of Miss Ruth E. Pape and Robert M. Smith both of Kirkwood, which took place last evenirig at 8 o’clock- at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. L E. Pape, near that village. The wedding was a very quiet affair, only the members af the immediate families 'being pree. tnt at the ceremony. The couple were unattended and were united in marriage by Rev. W. P. ?1cholas, pastor of the Kirkwood Presbyterian church. Immediately following the ceremony a bedding supper was served. Both Mr. ahd Mrs. Smith are well known in Monmouth and have many acquaintances heffe who will, hasten to extend congratulations. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Pape and attended Monmouth college for one year and was a student at the college conservatory cA music. Mr. Smith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Smith of near Kirkwood and is a prosperous young farmer near that place. After a short honeymoon trip into Iowa, the couple will be at home to their many friends on the groom’s farm, six miles northwest of Kirkwood.Word has been received here of the
