EASTCOTT - LAWSONHAMIOTA — Christ Anglican Church was the setting for a wedding on July 28, when Rhonda Jean, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Lawson of Oakner and Brian Murray, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Eastcott of Shoal Lake were united in marriage by the Rev. Leslie Daley.The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, to the strains of the bagpipes, played by her cousin. Lawson Douglas of Rivers. Man.Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a floor length A-line gown of crepe, the bodice overlaid with lace with full length bell sleeves of lace. A sprav of organza flowers held the three tier ch-aple veil in place. She wore a set of gold cross earrings, a erift of the groom, and for something old. she wore an antique gold brooch. She carried a white Bible with sweetheart roses.Miss Donna Elliott, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Miss Nadine Campbell was bridesmaid, they wore floor-length A-line gowns of floral sheer over purple.. They wore white daisies in their hair and carried a prayer book overlaid with a cascade of daisies.The groom’s attendants were David Dougall and Sterling Eastcott, brother of the groom.| Shaune Othen, a nephew of the bride was ring bearer, he c^r-:j ried the rings on a white silk cushion with a crocheted cover with a heart motif and entwined rings, crocheted by the brides paternal grandmother.The Ushers were Colin Lawson, brother of the bride and Rick Eastcott, brother of the groom.During the signing of the register, a rendition of “Amazing Grace” was given on the pipes by Lawson Douglas.The mother of the bride chose a floor-length A-line gown of tangerine and pink sunburstpolyester with white accessories and a corsage of white carnations.The groom’s mother wore a deep blue satin floor length gown with an overskirt of net; she wore white accesories and a corsage of white carnations.At the reception in the Ham-iota Hall, Miss Shirley McLean was in charge of the guest book. The grace was asked by Rev. Daley. Mrs. Mavis Smythe proposed the toast to the bride.Mr. Gary Slimmons was M.C.Guests were from Vancouver. Powell River, B.C., Brantford and Orangeville, Ont., Calgary Cupar. Waldron and Yorkton white Sask., Winnipeg, Brandon, Rosendale. Shoal Lake, Souris, Str athclair. Oak River, Harding Crandall, Hamiota and Oakner Following the reception, the bride ant' groom called on several friends taking them wedding cake.The Harmonie Music Makersfor thesupplied the musicdance.For travelling, the bride chose a long sleeved dress of blue figured silk, with white accessories, her corsage was of red roses buds.Following a trip to Calgary and Lake Louise, the bride and frroom will reside at Shoal Lake.
