Pickenpack-T arpleyAngela Denise Pickenpack and William Andre Tarpley of Charlotte were united in marriage Saturday, Sept. 3, 1994, at 4 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Spartanburg, S.C. The Rev. B.T. Sears and the Rev. Alex Turner officiated, and music was by Wayne Staggs, Elliott Long and Julie Logan.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kejth Pickenpack of Spartanburg, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Tarpley ofBurlington.The bride wore a full-length satin gown, and her waist-length veil was secured to a headpiece of beaded pearls.Tina Hughes of Spartanburg, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor, and matron of honor was Sharaun-da Batteaste of Charlotte. Bridesmaids were Katina Holloman of Spartanburg; Shelita Johnson and Deniece Washington of Spartanburg, cousins of the bride; and Tawana Smith of Spartanburg, godsister of the bride. Tiffany McKinney and Erica Williams of Spartanburg, cousins of the bride, were junior bridesmaids.Harold Hill of Charlotte and Keenan Tarpley of Burlington. cousin of the bridegroom. were best men. Ushers were Brian Pickenpack and Christopher Pickenpack of Spartanburg, brothers of the bride; Gary Batteaste of Charlotte; Bryan Teamer and Franz Dautrouche of Spartanburg; Jeff Gunn of Burlington; and Andrew'Hines of Charlotte.Mia Jones of Burlington, cousin of the bridegroom, and Letrice McKinney of Spartanburg, cousin of the bride, were flower girls.Ring bearers were Brandon Chrisp of Burlington and Ar-mane Watson of Charlotte.Mary Lyles Younger of Spartanburg was wedding director, and guest registrar was Cassandra Meadow of Spartanburg was guest regis-Mrs. William Tarpley Angela Pickenpacktrar.The bride’s parents entertained with a reception at the church.The bride graduated from Boiling Spring High School, Spartanburg, and King’s College, Charlotte. She is a new accounts processor with Belk Service Center, Charlotte.The bridegroom graduated from Graham High School and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a B.A. degree in human services. A member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, he is a customer service manager at Bi-Lo Inc., Charlotte.The couple will live in Charlotte after a stay in Spartanburg. They met through a friend of the bride.The couple was honored w'ith a rehearsal dinner at the church by the bridegroom’s parents.The bride was entertained with a shower at Belview Baptist Church, Haw River, by the bridegroom’s mother, Evon Leach, Muriel Tarpley and Linda Dixson; a lingerie shower in Charlotte by Shraundra Batteaste; and a shower in Charlotte by the bride’s mother.
