KNOX-HUDGENS WEDDING VOWS SAID IN FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCHMiss Cecilia Kay Knox of Belton and Gary Allen Hudgens of Temple exchanged wedding vows Sunday afternoon in the First Presbyterian Church in Belton.The Rev. Rod Robinson of Waco officiated at the ceremony and Miss Margaret Briimbach of Garland provided prenuptial organmusic.Mrs. John Cecil Knox of Krum and the late Mr. Knox are parents of the bride. She* received the bachelor of avis, bachelor of music, and master of music degrees from North Texas Stale University where she majored in music education, French and piano.While at; NTSU, she was president of Sigma Alpha fota, national music sorority, chairman of the music panhellenic council, a member of Music Educators National Conference, Pi Kappa Lambda, music honorary, Pi Delta Phi, French honorary, and Alpha Lambda Delta and Mary Arden, literary and honorary societies.She was twice recepicnt of the dean of the school of music honor award, outstanding sophomore music student and named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. She won the Amarillo Symphony piano concerto contest and appeared as guest pianist.Mrs. Hudgens taught public school music in Arlington and at NTSU before coming to Mary I-Iar-din-Baylor in 1967 where she is an assistant professor and head of the piano department. She is a member of the Music Club of Temple and Temple Music Tcachers Association.Mr. Hudgens is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Hudgens of Route One, Troy. He graduated from Troy High School and Temple Junior College and is engaged in farming.The altar of the sanctuary wasdecorated with two seven -branch candelabra intertwined with ivy. The bride, escorted to the a liar by her brother-in-law, Robert Snodgrass, of Arlington, was given in marriage by her mother. She wore a Dior blue coat and dress ensemble of silk faille. Ilrr low-walled pillbox hal. was of matching fabric and featured a pom-pom veil of matching illusion. She carried a handkerchief belonging to her paternal grandmother and a nosegay of yellow roses and white fuji mums and stephauotis.Mrs, Michael Hilliard was matron of honor and Ray Martin of Temple, brother-in-law of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Michael Hilliard and Guy Wilson.A reception was held in l.he church parlor after the ceremony. Members of the house party were Mrs. W. W. Hair Jr., Mrs. Guy Wilson, and Miss Martha Wilker-son. of Bell on and Mrs. Ray Martin and Mrs. A. J. Mercer of Temple. sisters of the groom.The reception table was laid with an heirloom Normandy lace cloth made from trousseaux of fourteen brides during the period of 1800 to 1010. The centerpiece of yellow roses and white fuji mums was flanked on each side by five-branch candelabra holding white tapers. The wedding cake was served from an early American hammered silver tureen with a silver ladle belonging to the bride’s maternal grandmother.After a wedding trip, the couple will reside at 1001 South Forty-third Street in Temple.--o-Fred N. Howell Jr. is recuperating at bis home at 1820 N. Beal St., after recent open heart surgery.Mr. and Mrs. Hudson Allen and their family visited in Belton last weekend with relatives and friends.
