When searching for some Ozark locations for Jesse James,” Director Henry King rode over the countryside on a donkey squinting at the Missouri landscape. A mountaineer stopped him, asked where he was going. When told he was hunting for locations to shoot a picture of “Jesse James,” the man snorted:“Where yuh been all the time? Don’t you. know that James boys been daid nigh onto 60 years.”
