Williams Sr. of Angleton, The groom's parents are Mr, and Mrs. Joe Martinez, Sr. of Huntsville.The Rev, Edward Cremis, performed the ceremony, and music was provided by Dr. John Paul at the organ and Mrs. Mercedes Shumaker, soloist.The altar was decorated with baskets ol gladioli, carnations and fern; and a pair of greenery entwined candelabra.Entering on the arm of her father, the bride wore a floor -length gown of white silk linen In the empire silhouette, designed with a rounded neckline, elbow sleeves and an A-line skirt.The chapel train fell from the shoulders vvhefe It was attached with self covered buttons. Both the train and front of the dress were adorned with hand appllqued and beaded lace in a rectangular design.Her veil, a gift from the groom, was a lace mantilla worn on a comb. She carried a bouquet of cascading carnations and glamellias on a prayer book and rosary.Miss Pat Williams was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were another sister, Miss Rebecca Williams; and Mrs, MarthaGris-ham of Huntsville, cousin of the groom. Miss Cassandra Williams, also a sister of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.They wore identical empire dresses of pink silk linen, styled with rounded necklines and elbow sleeves and trimmed with white lace. The A-line skirts were worn street-length,Fredrick Weinzlerl of Houston was the best man. Groomsmen were Ralph Fisher, Joel Martinez, Huntsville. Sam Martinez of Huntsville and Gilbert Williams Jr. of Angleton lighted the candles and also served as ushers, along with Sam Martinez and Andrew Martinez of Huntsville, and Joe Martinez Jr. of Conroe,The bride's mother wore an aqua silk dress, and the groom’s mother chose a dress of sea green.Newman Hall was the setting for the reception following the ceremony.Houst party members were Mrs. Ila Martinez, Mrs. Sam Martinez, Mrs. Charles Armstrong of Huntsville, Mrs.Louis Kough and Miss Mary Kough of Willis.For travel, the bride chose a pink double-breasted suit.After a wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs, Martinez will make their home in Harlingen.She is a graduate of Angle -ton High School and Sam Houston State College where she was a member of the Newman Club, served as an officer of the Pennybacker Club and as vice president of Alpha Phi Chapter of Kappa Omicron Phi. She will teach vocational home making inRaymondville,He is a graduate of Huntsville High School and Sam Houston State. He was a member of the Sociology Club and was among a group of Sam Houston students to study Mexican culture under theSIl-SC Extension School in Pueblo, Mexico. He also served three years in the U.
